New guy with a few Questions...
Hey , whats up guys, i recently took my 98 camry to the dealer for a check up after the check engine light came on, they told me the "Air Fuel Ratio Sensor" was bad. Now are they refering to the Mass Air Flow sensor or the Upstream O2 sensor? A few places i buy parts from referred to the upstream (before catalytic converter) O2 as a "Air Fuel Ratio Sensor"...
And also where is the upstream o2 located? is it a PITA to repair? Thanks in advance guys -Brandon |

RE: New guy with a few Questions...
MAF measures air volume, O2 sensor measures air/fuel ratio.

If I am not mistaken, only California cars have AF Ratio sensor (page SF-68 of Service Manual) which is different from O2 sensor.

Wide range/narrow range - still O2 sensor but I guess denoted differently for parts ID. |
