Default P Port Problems

Guys - new to Toyota's - got a 96 Camry real cheap but it needed a head gasket - put it on and it ran ok. Now when I start up the car I have bad or no idle also get a #3 misfire code. Weird thing is and what I need help with is - I have vacuum on the p port of the throttle body at idle and if I hook the line to it the car will stall. I don't know if I did something wrong when I put the head back on or if the problem with the bad idle is unrelated. As always any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Perhaps the hoses for the EGR are not installed correct. If the EGR is turned on at idle (vacuum powered), the engine will quit.

Suggest rechecking the vacuum hose connections.

Misfire can be most anything. Is the valve clearance OK on No 3, injector and ign wires OK?
