outside temp. reader?
Anyone know where this is mounted, it always reads hotter than really is. Thinking it must be under the hood.

Location is behind passengers side of bumper cover grill area mounted to a vertical frame member. Should be able to see it by looking into grill area. Reasonably large in size, has connection plug for wiring.

Thanks for the location info.. Today in Houston it is 92 with a feels like 98. My temp reader is showing 98. Maybe I'm gett'n the feels like temp, which would explain the variance or just a road reader.

Since temp gauge is near radiator, this area may be hotter then outside air temp if not driving fast.
Might pickup a low cost remote air temp sensor. This design has a temp bulb at the end of long a wire. Route wire near car temp gauge and compare. |
They also do not take in account wind & humidity, until they come up with a more accurate one I would rather just do without. Just useless ineffective crap. Unfortunately, we're prob. going to see more of this. Less is best...old school.

Drivers may not be satisfied with a basic, reliable car. Thus the more features, the better the sales. But just more to break down. On Camry, even the windows are now controlled by computer.
Another reason to keep the older but easier to fix cars and other equipment. |
Well, I like the way my windows work on my 2012 Camry, I have noticed an improvement from my past vehicles. This is my first toyota...still impressed.
