rain water getting in trunk
 

i have an 89 camry that I've only had for a few months and it rained this week. when i opened my trunk a couple days later water poured out of the tail lights on the inside or back side. the lights have no cracks in them was wondering if anyone else has ran into this problem and how to go about fixing it. thanks

Check your weather stripping first. Your car has got some age to it so the rubber gaskets might be tired and not seal like they once did. If water actually poured out of the tail light housings themselves, then there is a crack or broken seal somewhere. The only opening in the housings should be where the bulbs plug in. And if water poured out of the tail lights, where exactly from the tail light housing did the water come out of?

The water came out of the spot you are talking about. When I opened up my trunk it just dumped right out. So I guess I should take the entire lens out and check the gasket then

Sounds like a good start. If you are having trouble and need to replicate the scenario, take the car through a car wash or hose down the trunk area a little. I once had a Tahoe with aftermarket clear turn signals that would fill up with water. I removed the entire turn signal housing and put my mouth on the bulb insert hole and blew into the housing causing air pressure. Doing this I could feel where the air was seeping out and that was my leak. Keep us posted.
