In a real bind...1994 4-cyl battery spec?
 

Can anyone tell me what type of battery I need to buy for my 1994 toyota camry le 4-cyl? Mine died last night and all repair shops are closed today so I need to do it myself (in a supermarket parking lot, no less).

Battery size is designated by group size.

The 4 cylinder takes a Group 35 battery.

A larger Group 24F should also fit the battery pan.

These numbers are just the size of the battery and don't designate the battery terminal layout.

Make sure the battery terminal locations on the new battery are the same as you car. Meaning that the Positive and Negative terminals are located on the same side of the battery and in the same arrangement as the one you now have in the car. Make a diagram of the terminal arrangement on your current car battery to bring in.

It is easy to change out the battery. Find some tools that will fit the battery holder and cable terminals.

Again make sure the battery terminal layout is the same. Connect the Negative battery cable (grounded to chassis, black) to the Neg or (-) marked battery terminal and the Positive red battery cable to the Pos (+) marked terminal.

Most places that sale batteries have books or similar to allow you to look up the car year/model and find the right battery.

Thank you. I got it all switched out and changed myself (although I broke a battery clamp because it was corroded, I guess 15 years will do that). Jimmy-rigged it enough to get it to a repair shop so they could swap my clamp with a new one.
