Stripped Nut

In the process of replacing my wiper motor in my '99 Camry, got the linkage out of the car, and got the motor off the linage with a little elbow grease and some help with the friendly guys down at Advanced Auto. Now I got the new motor on and put the bolt that actually spins the linkage on and realized I messed up the location of it for timing purposes, and when I attempted to get it off, it spins in both directions but won't get tighter or looser. Any Ideas how to get it off? Really don't want to have to buy another new motor and a new linkage set...

Thanks for any help you can give...

how are they connected? Usually it's with bolt and you need to loosen those bolts to disconnected it.

The nut is directly connected to the motor. The only thing between it and the motor is the arm thingy of the linkage. So I am unable to remove the bolt as it is part of the motor itself.

The wiper arm nut on the motor is stripped?

Do an internet search on "nut splitter" and determine if this device can help.

If the motor gear box cover plate on the motor is exposed, you may be able to remove the cover and then the gear/arm to allow easier working on the problem.

Yes sir, the nut appears to be stripped. After doing some internet searching, the
"Nut Splitter" looks like it just might work, I'll have to go try and find one tomorrow and attempt to use it. Will post results whenever I find the time.

Thanks for the Help!

That's exactly what I want to point out, just not sure how to call it...I think that might work.

So I got a nut splitter, attempted to use it, but the one I got was useless. The blade just kept turning making it impossible to actually do, well, anything. Ended up having to go to my local shop and have them cut it off for me. But hey, I got it off!
