Timing Issue

I recently did the water pump in my 98 camry 4 cyl. I looks like the timing marks on the top and bottom are right but, the car wont start any ideas?

RE: Timing Issue

Yikes! The timing belt replacement biggest fear. If it ran before you did the TB then the problem must be the alignment of the marks. The only thing for it, is to remove the covers etc. and double-check all your marks!

There are marks on the crank pulley that seem similar to the real mark. Double check the marks and highlight them with white out or white paint stripe and realign. I bet you will find one of them off, (you didnt turn the engine with the belt off did you?)
And then put the crank pulley bolt on and turn the engine over two complete revolutions and check your marks again.
If they are not where they're supposed to be, maybe one of your pulleys/idlers is a draggin from worn out or broken, and making it skip time?

RE: Timing Issue

Thank you for being so kind the problem has been fixed it had nothing to do with timing actually what happened was the wire to the crankshaft sensor some how got caught under the altenator bracket and was shorting out thus the pcm wasn't send spark or fuel to the motor!
