What yearautomatic transmission will fit a 97 toyota 2.2 4cyl engine?
And will there be any modifications?

 

Guessing something between 1996 and 2001. The shifting is controlled by the computer. Modifications if required would be in the harness that attaches to the trans.

 

Gen 3 & Gen 4 camry's use the same auto trans according to other literature I have read and other forums. Ratios might be a little different.
Gen 3 = 92-96
Gen 4 = 97-?? (2000 I think, might be 01 or 02 though..)
