Default Upper Air Box

I have a 2002 SE V6 and it needs a new upper air box (at cost of $236+), It appears that some mechanic has grabbed the vacuum hose attached to the front side of box and broken the nub completely off. The sad part about this is that I only get this serviced at the dealer yet they say it was already broken when I brought it in this past time. Does anyone know a cheaper way to fix this? If I replace the box is this likely to happen again? How bad is it to just leave that one hose hanging? Any help would be appreciated.

Default RE: Upper Air Box

if you don't want to pay $236 and repair it the proper way..just glue it with epoxy...
