What is this part?
I went to Big O to get my tires done and they told me that there is a problem with my A/C hose and it will cost $400. I asked him to show me the part so he gave me the image i have posted below. The part in question is "88716A" (bottom right corner) I researched online and found the part for around $40 (Big O says the part is $250). However, when I found the part online I saw that it is a "pipe, cooler refrigerant liquid". I am new to working on cars and I am not sure if "pipe, cooler refrigerant liquid" is the same as "A/C hose".
If anyone has some insight on the part in question I would appreciate it Thanks 1996 Camry LE 4cyl http://www.villagetoyotaparts.com/im...ze/MES273D.jpg |
Something like part 88711 would be an AC hose (upper left). This line is actually a flexible hose.
88716A is pipe. "Pipe, cooler refrigerant liquid" fits the description. This is a generic description. The AC system has lots of pipes. Does the AC work? Suggest confirming the problem. Take a look for damage which would not be typically for this pipe but never know. |
