Windshield wiper problems
 

The other day I started to have an issue in my '99 Camry with the wipers. when turned to the intermittent setting, it is the same speed as the medium setting regardless of where the speed wheel thing is set at. Also the blades stop immediately when I turn them off, no matter where they are located on the windshield.

Any ideas how to fix this??

The other part of the system is the motor which contains the off switch to position the blades in the part position.

Other than the fact that I got the linkage timing off, and stripped the nut, I replaced the motor and it runs just fine now.

I have a 2009 Toyota Camry. The intermittent windshield wipers only work on high speed and do not "park" at the bottom of the windshield when switched off unless timed just right.
I've tried replacing the switch twice (once with a used part from eBay and a second time with a brand new switch from an auto part big box store) and nothing changed. Eventually this has caused the fuse to blow out.

Any advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is it possible that the windshield wiper motor is the problem?
Is it likely to be solved if I replace the windshield wiper motor or is a more complicated problem?

It sound like you will have to change your wiper motor.

Same issues here and ended replacing the entire wiper motor.....and that fixed the problem.

Had a very similar issue. Have a friend who is a do it yourselfer and he told me that this is a common issue with the late 90s Camry and its a bad wiper motor. I found one online from autopartsway for under $100 and my friend replaced it. Everything works as it should.
