2007 Camry TRD V6 dual exhaust on I4

Hello everyone,

I have 2007 Camry SE 4 cylinder. I know theyare sellinga single TRD exhaust for 4 cylinder, but I really like dual exhaust setup.
I was thinking about puting TRD V6 dual exhaust on my 4 cylinder Camry. Fitment shouldn't be a problem.
The TRD 4 cylinder exhaust have resonator + muffler a nd the TRD V6 exhaust doesn't have resonator but 2 mufflers.
What I heard there may be a problem with backpressure or something.
What you guys think, is it good idea or just stick with single TRD I4 exhaust?
I do not want have problems, like lossing power, crapy or loud sound, etc.

Thanks

The back pressure all depends on themotronic systemwithin the camry...If it is good enough it will be able to detect the lack of back pressure from the increase in the oxygenbeing supplied into thefuel and will adjust its full delivery. However, I have no freaking clue if the camry or any toyota is capable of this... Perhaps someone here could provide the answer. One thing is for sure though, a large portion of people's understanding on backpressure is convoluted and incorrect.

I'm assuming by "Motronic system" you mean ecu? But, regardless it will run fine after a week or so the computer will acclamate to the new exhaust(My opinion). I would be more concerned with how it would sound. You need to have a point where the exhaust cross in the dual system to equalize the sound from each side.

Just ordered the exhaust plus the extra parts to add left side muffler.
I found a website, where they selling the TRD V6 exhaust for $660 + $ 22 ship, sounds good to me.

Yes, i will. I hope there is not going to be big difference in length. I am really wondering how it is going to sound, but if it is designed for V6 which produce more presure, on 4 cylinder it shouldn't be louder.

How far are you going up with the pipeing? You need to have something where the pipes to the two mufflers cross or this will sound like ****.

Lenght shold be the same. Should install okay as long as the pipeing is the same diamater. Also, just becase it's made for a six and you have a four doesn't mean that it will be quiter on your car than on a v6. i could actually be alot louder. you have to remember the a v6 has headers that are desigend differently than an I4 which only has one header. I'm interested in how this comes up but, as a warning it could be loud as hell!!!

I am interested also. If it is going to be too loud, I may put the original center resonator back somehow. Do you think this may help ?

The resonator would help a bit but, I would see what it sounds like without it first. You'll know quickly if you like that sound or not often times custom work it hit or miss and you'll know if you miss!

That is right. Of course I will try it first without the resonator, then I can thing of something else.
Trying to be positive :-)

Did you already have the cutout for the 2nd exhaust tip or did you have to cut it out yourself?

I did it by myself. I used Dremel.

Everything is fine. It took me about 30 min total to measure a cut the cardboard and make the opening with dremel. What you mean "goes back" ? Dremel is rotary tool, you will cut it off permanently. The cuttingtook me probably just 1-2 minutes.
