'99 camry w/ INJEN IS SERIES= check engine light?! please help!
 
hi all,
i installed an injen IS series intake on my '99 camry LE (4cyl) and after driving a while, the check engine light came on. it is my daily driver, and i havent noticed or heard anything weird going on, so i was wondering if this has happened to anyone, or if anyone can please advise?

it may be the mass air flow sensor.

I agree...it is probably the MAF sensor. It happens on a lot of cars. Did you drop it at all, or in some cases, people install it backwards.

Remove the MAF and clean it with MAF cleaner from Pepboys/autozone. Make sure there are no leaks around where you are mounting it.

Good thing doesn't happen to me yet, probably yes, it's the map sensor try it out...

Usually, when using oiled aftermarket filters (K&n, spectre, etc.) they come with excess oil in the filter and it tends to get sucked in onto the sensor and that sometimes tends to throw codes as the sensors are very sensitive to debris.

Installed the same intake on my '99 CE. Driving on it for a couple months now and I didn't have the check engine light problem. Check to see that your MAF sensor is in tight and is clean on the tip that sits inside the intake.
