Short Ram for 2000 2.2L 5sfe
I have done some research and none of the brand names (KNN, Injen) makes an aftermarket intake for the 2000 5SFE.
I have seen some intakes claimed to fit this car in ebay. I was told that it would trip off the check engine light because of the MAF sensor being relocated from the stock intake box to the the aftermarket pipe. Has anyone installed aftermarket intake on their 2000 5SFE? Any problems with the check engine light? Thanks. |

Injen:
http://www.krazykustomzonline.com/in...ckp-33683.html You're right about K&N, AEM, Weapon R, ect. But I did locate the Injen one for you! I installed an aftermarket SRI on my 99 and I had no problems with the check engine light. The only thing that gets attached to the new intake besides the vacuum tubes is the AIT sensor. I dont know about the 00, but the 99 has an independent MAF via a vacuum tube connected to the throttle body. Your's may be between the tube and the filter which in that case, the company will provide a MAF adapter for your set-up. Hope this helps. (even if it does trip the check engine, you can connect an OBD II scanner and turn off the light) |
Weapon-r Secret weapon short ram intake
Weapon-r makes a short ram intake for the 2000 2.2l 5sfe. you'll have to buy (2) spectre 4 to 3 1/2" couplers and MAF sensor adapter and 4" duct mounting plate. The duct mounting plate has to be awkwardly secured but centered and works fine. Thats what I did and so far no check engine light. Also, it is somewhat of a tight squeeze when applying the MAF and couplers but, it'll fit. Leaves maybe no room for ram air tube clearance though, unless you have a smaller battery. I have a duralast gold and it restricts the space clearance. I just posted pics too so you can see what I mean. https://www.camryforums.com/forum/al...&pictureid=209
