Short ram intake out of stock air box..

Since there are little to no short ram or cold air intakes available for the 5sfe camry, I decided to get a Spectre cone-in air filter from Advance. I noticed a sensor that is in the back of the air filter box and I'm kind of confused as to what will happen to it, I pulled it out and the car idled fine.. but I don't know how it would do in the long run. Will it be okay without the sensor in or will the sensor need to be tucked in the piping?

This is the Intake Air Control sensor that tells the computer what temperature the incoming air is to allow computing the fuel/air ratio.

You need to install it somewhere into the intake air stream or the fuel/air ratio will be off.

you pulled it out while the car was running? I remember when I installed my SRI I had the battery d/ced just to be certain I don't damage the sensor

The sensor is all taken' care of I got tubing from Advance and got a maf hook-up pipe and stuck the sensor in it.
