1994 camry le 4 cyl stalls
 

So, I've got a 94 camry and the darn thing is stalling and none of the local mechanics know what the problem is. After coming getting off the highway or coming to a red light, the engine would shake a little and the car would turn off. Then it takes a couple of attempts to turn on again. I have no clue what the problem is. it only has 144K miles on it. Im trying to get to 200K. No signs of gas odor either.


Folks have told me to replace the ECT sensor or the ignition module.

Please help

Might be the ECT sensor, the ECU seldom fails.

Problem happen engine hot, cold, both?

Only after coming to a stop?

The shaking is most likely due to the low engine RPM before it dies.

yah, most of the time its my problem but I got fix it right away because I got a good technician... ;) thanks joe!!!

It usually happens after the car is running for a while. Also the engine temperature gauge doesn't rise either. It always happens as I'm coming to a stop. After it dies it takes 2-5 cranks to get it going. Sometimes right before it dies I put it in neutral and rev it but it's not stable.
