1994 DX fixer upper
Just paid $500 for a 4 door manual transmision 1994 DX. It needs some work but slowly it is a project to keep busy and bond with my 14yr old son. gonna come back for help...for sure. We have a new coolant leak somewhere under the distributor. checking out today.
The hose might go to the IAC valve. The 2 coolant hoses to this valve have an outer rubber cover that end short of the end of the hose. This is what appears to be the case in your photo.
There is another hose in the area that goes to the heater valve. This hose is connected to a coolant manifold attached to the drivers side of head forward of the distributor. This hose is larger in diameter and has no rubber cover.
Toyota lists the hose as Engine Coolant Hose. Hose, water bypass - Passenger,.
Flexible hose that is part of the engine cooling system. IAC Valve to Pipe.
The hoses are preformed. I got mine from a Toyota dealer which appeared the only place that had them. You can search online Toyota dealers who sell parts or might go to a dealer to make sure you get the right one. Cost is around $14 per hose. Change both hoses.
Might consider changing the other hoses to such as heater, oil cooler, bypass as cheap insurance. If the engine runs out of coolant and the temp gauge goes into the red, the head gasket can blow or a head crack. For these other hoses (ones not going to the IAC), there are a host of aftermarket vendors available.
For decent parts at reasonable prices try Rockauto. Watch shipping costs as parts on your list being purchased on your order may drop ship from a more then one warehouse. There will be a shipping charge for each different warehouse supplying that part or parts ordered..Search the internet for a 5% off code.
