1997 Toyota Camry

Well most everyone here must know what a great ride we have in our camrys. I read alot about others that have these small leaks, sucks, but nice to hear this is most common? I was wondering what others were thinking about the toyota oil changes. I come from a toyota family and was advised about the toyota oil filter, something special about them verses the regular ones. Sucks to take an older car to the dealer to charge more for these things, anyone care to touch on the subject? Also for the 4 bangers here, I know these cars do great around town but could make you cry trying to climb a hill, any exp on getting a little more power outta them. THANKS
:)

I do not think there is any thing special about Toyota oil filters. If you do your own work you can by them online cheaper.

Napa Gold filters are very good (made by Wix). Double the filtration material as a standard filter. Most likely as good or better then Toyota.

HP increases on the 4 cylinder are difficult and expensive as the engine was designed for economy. Search the Toyotanation website as owners, there have tried various improvements.

There are improved cams, headers, a turbocharger but not a lot of other items.
