Default 2005 Camry Tensioner Replacement

Hello community,

I am gathering all the information in order to replace the tensioner of my 2005 Toyota Camry. There is pretty loud chirping/screeching whenever I accelerate. I don't have too much experience servicing my Camry (most Ive done is replace the starter) but after some research it doesnt seem too difficult, but there is some room for some serious damage. Mainly it seems that the tensioner bolt is the most painful part, at least the removal and installation of it.

I am trying to find the torque specs on that particular bolt but it seems there are no free sources. If anyone has a link or the pdf for the service manual and can point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Also since I am replacing the tensioner, I am going to replace the serpentine belt as well. Does anybody have any ideas where I can purchase the best belt/tensioner combination? I would rather spend a bit more for a really good one.

Thanks in advance

Engine type 4-cyl or V-6?

Could it be a loose belt squealing?.

Hey Toyomoho, its a 4 cyl.

I am quite positive that the issue is the belt tensioner needing replacement. I took it to the dealer and had them professionally inspect that noise in particular and they came to the same conclusion.

The only difference is they charge $700 so I would like to change it myself but I want to know every relative detail so I don't mess it up haha

Tensioner nut and bolt torque is 44 ft lb.

A search under "replacing 2AZ-FE tensioner" should find LOT's of info including Utube video's.
