2006 Camry 4 Cylinder alternator

The alternator isn’t charging the battery. I have tried 3 different alternators, brand new battery, checked fuses (engine bay and inside car), checked for shorts, and replaced the negative battery cable.

Do you have a wiring diagram?

No I do not but can search for one online. Also feel like that’s out of my league.

Is the battery light on?

How are you checking the alternator for proper operation?

The charging system wiring is simple. If you had a diagram you would be better able to troubleshoot. You could check for proper voltages at the alternator end of wiring engine off and determine if a wire was broken.

Yes the battery light is on.

I used a multimeter to check if the alternator is charging the battery when the engine is on. While the engine is on the battery is at 12.3 volts which is low.

This site has a number of threads on your exact problems. Suggest doing a search.

If you are using a rebuilt alternator its possible one or maybe two can be junk right out of the box.

Some having the exact same problem had success with a Toyota alternator. Assume that Toyota uses Denso as they own a large percentage of the company.
