92 camry v6 SPEEDO ISSUE-
 

Hi every one, my Camry has speedo issues and need help.
I 've read threads regarding this issue but I think this ads a new twist.

Here are the facts.



1. old speedo cluster --- everything worked, except the speedometer/ odometer/ trip odometer.
2. replaced cluster and as before everything works plus the odometer/ tripodometer, and the needle moves a little (sparatically)

Also worth mentioning is that the transmission shifts correctly but the cruise does not work.

Could it be the speed sensor ?

Might be the speed sensor but the part is not cheap.

Does the cruise light come on? The cruise system has its own diagnostic system. Perhaps getting any trouble codes may link to the speedo issue.

the cruise light comes on but does not engaged . today I went to a wrecker and obtained a speed sensor. Hope it works. Will let you know.

Just FYI. I just bought a Camry so don't know if it applies but I know that on some of my cars in the past cleaning the electrical connector with a good contact cleaner (particularly on a speed sensor) has solved many a problem like that.
