Default alarm turned on

I have a 98 Toyota Camry LE V6. Suddenly while driving, the car alarm (I think it's burglar alarm) turned on automatically (which sounds similar to an ambulance). I parked the car for sometime to look at the problem, and after a minute the alarm went off. It again happened a few minutes later and went off after a minute. But now it's okay. Can someone pls tell me what could be the problem here? Is this an indication that the car needs service?

you might have a blown fuse some where. do you have a system installed? and if you do, did you use a fuse or a swtich (not sure what they are called)? samething happened to my cousin's STI and fouind out that the switch was off which was causing the alarm, and rader/laser detecotr to go off like crazy..

it was funny seening people's reaction when it went off at a stop light... people stair at us like we're dumb or something.. lol

sorry for taking so long to respond, but there is a main fuse for the deck itself and if you have an amp then there should be a fuse somewhere near the battery. and for your main fuse, not sure where it is on your car but on mine, its right under the dash behind the little coin holder thing. or you might have some other fuse(s) that are blown that has something to do with alarm itself.
