CRAPPY MPG

RE: CRAPPY MPG
hey i got it all figured out some wat. even with a tune up i was still getting 18 MPG. A guy from BG came into my automotive class and i told him about my car and he gave me a can of 44K. i put it in today and already i can feel a diferance. the 0-60 time was cut by 4 sec. and i'll ahve to wait and see if it helps my MPG. i am extreamly pleased with this product. I guess the problem was something in my fuel system. maybe a valve or injector. but wat ever it was it is gone now.

That's great!
Injectors?
The issue with the dual electrode plugs is Toyota changed the ign system. The result is the requirement for this plug. The new ign system may be set up to fire at ever stroke, not just on compression.
Determine if the engine has several ign coils instead of one.

it has two coil packs. but i went to another place and got the dual electrode anyway. i returned the copper ones. but ya im hopping that this will fix it for a while. i got the can for free but it is around $11. i plan on doing that every other oil change.

Dual coils, one coil for two cylinders. The plug fires twice instead of once hence the dual electrode plug.
Could have been an injector problem. Not that common but it does happen.
Toyota uses a Chevron product with Techron.

Pull up the front of the rear seat at each side then pull out the seat. The access cover to the top of the tank will be exposed. Remove this cover to locate the fuel tank pump and sender cover. The pump and sender hand from under this cover.

You will need to disconnect any hoses or pipes going to the top of the cover and the wiring harness plugs. The output pipe of the pump may be still under pressure. Loosen the the upper nut on the can filter inside the engine compartment to relieve pressure. Make sure you have a towel aound the nut to catch any fuel.
Once done unbolt the plate and unit should pull out. Don't pull it out by the wiring.
