electric troubles 1990 camry
i have a 1990 model camry i was driving along when the stereo turned off then the dashboard lights went out then the headlights went out then everything come back on and the car died i took it to auto electricians he said it is the alternator he changed it i left the work shop got no more than 100 metres then it died again and it wouldnt start the guy said there is no spark but power is coming from the distributer..... any suggestions what could be wrong

What has the mechanic done so far to fix the issue.
Can you clarify no spark but power is coming out of the distributor a little better.
Some of these circuits are separate from the others as such reads like a wiring issue.

the mechanic replaced the alternator and thats all.
he checked the wiring to the distributer but there is no spark going through the spark plug leads
he checked the 2 wiring plugs that are on the side of the distributer. he put a screwdriver in the spark plug lead and turned the key and there was no spark
