Default RE: fuel system cleaning

Older cars had a can type filter in the engine compartment, the filter is now in the tank.

Fuel injector cleaning removes the deposits off the injectors. Toyota uses Techron, much like the additive in Chevron products. This issue is more about carbon build up then debris in the fuel.

One issue with fuel cleaning is it often is a way for Toyota dealers to improve profits. Unless a problem with poor quality fuel getting into the tank engines rarely need fuel injector cleaning. This would show up in poor engine performance, poor idle, etc.

If you are concerned about this issue start using injector cleaner in the tank every so often.
