Help with tires ?!

Hi everyone,

New to the site so please forgive me if i make any mistakes. I am a medical student who drives a 08 camry le , no mods . I still have the oem michelin tires and they are very bald (83000 miles). I need new tires ! any recommendations. 215/60-16 size tires . My friend drives a celica gts and said eagle gt tires are holding up really well for him. Im kinda leaning towrds those tires cuz they are cheap and give adequet performance. So please help me to find good tires ?! thanking everyone in advance.

PS: i mostly drive on freeways .

How much do you want to spend on tires?

How many miles do you drive per year and in what type of weather, rain, snow, ice, etc?

Tirerack.com has lots of tire reviews plus opinions from owners, might check them out. When checking look for reviews from owners who have put some miles on their tires before expressing their opinion.

I drive mostly freeway miles, in vegas , no snow at all, rain maybe twice a year if lucky so its usually hot and in winter cold but no ice or snow. car has 83000 miles on and its the oem michelins from the factory.

The Eagle GT is rated at 7.4 out of 10 on Tirerack. Excellent on dry pavement, extremely well in all other areas and OK in snow, ice, etc which you don't have. The price is reasonable too.

Also check out General Tire Altimax and Michelin brands in the $100-120 price range.

If you are looking for deals try Costco, Discount Tire, etc check the web for rebate offers such as buy 3 get one free or get a 70 dollar debit card with purchase of 4 tires.

Goodyear seems to have a $40 rebate sale on GT's going on.

Be sure to add installation costs, balancing, etc. to the 4 tire price which can increase the overall cost by 20%.

Suggest staying away from $80 tires unless you know the brand and model, keeping in the $100-120 range.
