Hi. :). Anyone else experience this?

I am on my 4th Camry. I purchased a 2015 even though I hated the body style. My 2013 has to be replaced due to an accident. Saw the 2018 and was an owner of it within 72 hours. Starting at 2500 miles when switching from park to reverse the transmission doesn’t engage in gear. There’s a 2 second delay then a jump and loud noise and I’m in reverse. I’ve taken it in twice. Documented mileage, if it’s hot or cold and what happens. I’m not overly concerned as it’s documented and I have lots of warranty life on it. It’s a 4cyl, SE. also, I do dislike the Entune Suite. Using my data plan I was not told. Thank you!

Called delayed shifting.

In older trans can be caused by low trans hydraulic pressure, bad solenoids or clutches, worn out seals that leak internally.

However since a new trans. Could be a software issue or defect. If enough customer complaints, Toyota may issue a bulletin on how to fix the problem.

Doubt Toyota will do anything unless the trans breaks. While perhaps continuing to call it normal operation.

Delayed Shifting thank you!

Thank you! For the first time ever a little voice told me to buy the extended warranty. While I have never needed this with any other vehicle I’m glad I have it!
thank you for the reply
