How far will it go?
 

Hi everyone! First post here!

I just picked up a really cherry 2003 LE with the V6 engine. It was used mostly on highway and has 90,000 miles on her, but inside and out looks as if she wasnt more than a year old. No smoking in car, proper maintaince, taken care of like it should have been. I was a bit wary of buying a 3 year old car with 90K on it but hey- it is a Toyota after all. She should go a long ways yet, right? Right? Anyway, does anyone know what the record is for the 1MZ-FE engine going as far as mileage goes? I am hoping for 300K+, but maybe this is wishful thinking. I got 247,000 out of my 4 cylinder '87 Camry before we sold her, and was hoping that I will get at least this kind of good usage out of my "new" one.

Oh, and my first three tanks of gas have given me 32 mpg, 35mpg, and then 32 mpg again. Is this about right? I did not think that I would getanywhere near thisgood! Anyone else get this or even better with the V6?

I don't have a 6 but if my 4cyl.99 w/230K still hauls balls out so- then that 6 should propel you well over 300K miles. You also must accept the fact that the 1st year maintinance is the worst! don't be frustrated when you see your CEL light on a couple times. It'll get easier when you get the maintinance record up to date. MPG- i have no idea for the 6 but there should be websites out there that'll tell you the specs. My 4cyl. goes 410/415 to a tank mixed driving. Good luck and Welcome.

its not rated that high for freeway but i've certainly attained it. its good.
1mz, if oil changes are kept up with as well as all other things, it will last over 200K. once you hit 100K the car will finally be broken in!

btw i thought the 2003 used the 3mz-fe.
