Default JBL

Hi y'all,

Please hurry! I am potentially about to purchase an '05 SE. Does this trim, year come stock with a JBL sound system. The dealer over the phone, said he looked at the dash and it said JBL.HOWEVER,I feel I've seen JBL on Camry stereos but they were nt THE JBL Toyota braggs about?? It his possible?Does JBL make two different qualitiy levels of stereo for Toyota? Or,may I rest assured that if it says JBL then there is only one? Thanks!

HmmMM.. . JBL's sound isn't too popular just cuz they're still nonetheless, made out ov paper if they came from the dealership. JBL = Junk But Loud.

Anyways, there's the regular non-jbl deck + reg speakers and i want to say Alpine because my 99 has a 3 disc. CD changer that uses Alpine cartridges. But thats all i'm basing it on.

Then there's the JBL w/a CHANGER + EXTERNAL AMP + SUBWOOFER.

I believe the stereo upgrade has no connection with any trim lines; just another option for the buyer when the car was bought brand new.

JBL isn't a walk in the park system- don't get me wrong, its a fine system.. but for the option price that its listed for you can easily build a top notch sound system. Personally, I like going with Polk audio w/ Memphis amps.

I think i would rather get an aftermarket deck/speakers. I wouldnt say that JBL was one of the "best systems out there" though. but as far as the extra package for the jbl system i wouldnt waste the money on it.

Thanks,as I cannot do the installation myself, you still think it would be worth it(say Polk/Memphis 4 example) to get all put in at a shop?

yupp! sometimes- if you have people skills; you can actually talk to one of the installers (make sure he/she is MECP Cert.) for a side job on their day off!
