I just bought my first car and my friend is a mechanic and I need a new motor for it it is a 2.2 le any help what so ever would be greatly appricieated

 

The engine was used from around 93 to 01.

Best to try to find a motor of the same year although the basic block should be the same. Toyota made changes to the ign system eventually eliminating the distributor, cyl head design, cams, etc, over the years.

There may be past posts at this site explaining the differences between years.

 

try to ask your local dealer to find a suitable new motor for you car...
