Hey guys, I am a newbie who is looking for a used camry. I am getting my license in October. But not sure which year car should I buy, any suggestions?

How much money do you want to spend?

V6 or 4 cylinder engine, stick or auto?

It depends on your budget... try to look in some ads here I'm sure they are something for sale.

94's are cheap (Insurance and part's wise), plus I like the way they look :)

My budget is around 8k. Is that enough for an auto, 4 cylinder?

But how about the quality? I am worried about this. The early year edition like 94'-98' is not as good as recent year edition like 06'-09', is this ture? ... Since my budget is around 8k, I am thinking maybe I should look for a 01'-03'?

Would state 94-98 is better then 06-09 for quality (assuming the car is in good condition).

A 01 would be good.

If a wanting a 4 cylinder stay away from the 2AZ-FE engine that replaced the 5S-FE engine in 02.

Check Edmonds online for current prices. Also Craigslist. Prices tend to vary with your location.

I think you would be much better off with the Nissan for a lot of reasons. Besides for awhile they were having big problems with Toyota's Camry as well. It was all over the news for awhile. The gas pedals were sticking and accelerating all by themselves. There were lots of bad accidents and a few deaths. Then there were some brake issues also. I would not trust the Toyota. Hope you decide the right one. Good luck

Have you checked Used Cars, New Cars, Reviews, Photos and Opinions - CarGurus yet? They have this DealFinder feature where you can enter in your search criteria for your car and find good deals in your area. The feature actually sorts through all the listings for you and rates the deals good or bad. Saves a lot of time! It has worked very well for us. Good luck finding your Camry! And I agree, the late 90's models are good ones.
