n00b looking for a car
 

Hey kids, I'm in the market for a Solara. Right now I have silver 4 door 92 Camry LE with 199k powerd by the supa bad 5S. The car runs like a dream but it's slow and rather boring to drive. My other car is a 92 TSi which is highly modified, very fast, lots of fun to drive, but it loves blowing transmissions and I've had my fill with it so it's currently up for sale. What I'm looking for is a 99-03 Solara v-6, 5 speed, hardtop. Toyotas are built like tanks, and the trasmissions are solid as all get out. My friend has a 500whp celica and he shifts the stock trans at 9k, so that tells me a little something. And the appealing thing about this car is the TRD support, springs, blower, wheels, body kit, shifter, blah blah. With a couple of extra dollars you could make one into a decent sporty car and use nice clean factory equipment. Not as cool and as fast as my Talon, but I'm shure it would hold together a whole lot better and be alot more comfortable to drive.

With all that being what I'm trying to get at is what should I be looking for? Anything special I should know about the 99-03 Solara? Any certain years have any particular problems or perks? And optional equipment I shouldn't pass up? Or are there a few good links you guys could provide that I could gather this information from?
