New 1994 Camry LE owner
Hi all,
Newbie here. First time on since buying used 94 Camry back in March. Have an issue with it and hope someone could help? Every time I come to a stop at a red light or a stop sign, the car wants to die out like it's starving for gas. If I pedal the throttle to keep it running, it will. Sometimes I even drop it into neutral. Otherwise, it kinda chokes and dies out. Any ideas? The car starts right back up and on my way I go. But WHY does this keep happening to me? O2 sensor? Thanks Matt |
Does this happen engine hot or cold?

Usually when its hot. Right after its been running for awhile.

Sometimes the coil can crack, check coil body for cracks.
Check coil resistance. Primary coil resistance (positive and negative voltage terminals) is 0.36-0.55 ohm cold, 0.45.0.65 ohm hot. Secondary coil (positive voltage terminal and high voltage output socket) is 9.0-15.4K ohm cold, 11.4-18.1K ohm hot. Sometime the engine coolant temp sensor fails. Light green/brown wires, located on the water outlet manifold of head. Should be 0.2-0.4k ohms at 176F. |
