new and lookin for some advice

Hello there gents, new to the forum and happy to be here. ihave a 2006 le 3.0, had it since 08 and its one payment away from being paid off! 92k at the moment and i still love it.....aside from some signature issues that are the reasoni joined here finally. its always had the jumpy, random missed\hard shifts that ive read a little about, and the clunking/knocking steering assembly issue. Both of which were dismissed by all the local dealerships as ''normal for that year/make/model",which to me just means that they know the issues exist but arent willing to address them. So...ANY advice on how i can begin to track down any fixes for those issues would b greatly appreciated! thanks in advance!

There is a service bulletin on steering knock, see link below:

Determine if the TSB applies to your car based on VIN number. If so call a Toyota dealer and ask if it was ever applied to your car. If it did apply the dealer should have fixed it under warranty, now expired.

There have been many complaints about transmission problems for cars around your year. Toyota issued a few service bulletins but not sure if one was issued for a 2006, V6 engine Camry.

Might review posts at the Toyotanation website in the Camry section for your year of car. Some of the repairs involved reprogramming the trans computer.

If the trans fluid has never been changed and the mileage is getting up there might have it all changed. Worn out and dirty fluid is the number 1 cause of trans failure.

I see, same thing happen to me long time ago but decided to ignore it and ended up as a gift to my brother.
