New member with paint questions...

Hey guys, I have a question.... I just bought a white 2009 camry, and the day after I brought it home from the dealership it looked like Tire shine had sprayed all over the bottom of my car, and it wont come off. I just got home from the dealership, and they couldnt get it off either, they said that whatever it is, is IN the paint, and that nothing they put on there would have done that.... and I must have ran something over, which is funny considering I would have had to hit a huge puddle of whatever dead on to get it on all 4 tires, ( [:@]dont get me started on that part though, hehe) anyways, they are having a toyota rep come look at it, I guess my question is, should I let them repaint it, or fight for a new car (have had it about a week)??? Any help would be great. Thanks!

Getting a new car out of a dealer is very difficult, they may even resist painting the car stating this is normal, you did it, etc.

You might run the car by a few paint shops to get their opinion as to what is wrong with the paint. If a problem from the factory you can then point this out to the Rep versus getting into to the issue of whose fault it is.

I wouldn't expect a new car , I would expect it to be repainted or removed completely. Just don't let themconvince you it's your fault. I'm sure this isn't the first time to happen and they know the are liable. good luck . It would be cool if you update this when it gets resolved .
