New Toyota owner

I'm new to the forum so this is my first check in. My wife and I bought a 2016 Camry SE this last year and we really like it. I'm looking for maintenance schedule information and tune up procedures so will be lurking around here for a while.

I tried Toyota Nation first but the load time were ridiculous. Camry Forums looks to be a lot more user friendly.

I dig the SE model. This should help, it's straight from Toyota: http://www.toyota.com/owners/resourc...tVehicle=false

Just bought new 2018 Camry SE. Searching for suggestions and experience on purchasing VSA. Dealer wants too much (1350 for 5/75)

For midwestbob.

Toyota offers free download of owners manuals at their Toyota.com site. If wanting a paper manual, Ebay lists one now.

For juherek.

VSA's have very high profit margins! Dealers thus push them onto buyers at the time of vehicle sell.

There are sold like any other commodity. A VSA purchased at one US dealer, is good at any US dealer. Dealers can set their own price (meaning profit margin). The price is negotiable even if the dealer states they are prohibited from doing so.

Some dealers sell them at very good discounts. It used to be one could buy a VSA from any dealer in the US over the phone or internet. Due to non-discount dealer complaints, Toyota warned dealers to limit VSA dealer sales to in state. This may have later been changed to telling dealers not to advertise VSA's out of state.

Thought there was nothing to prohibit in person dealership sales to anyone.

There are a few well known discount VSA dealers. One is Jerry Johnson in KS, midwestsuperstore.com, another is Toby in LA, tobytoyota@aol.com.

Might call or email and get the straight scoop if they can sell out of state. Plus perhaps a few quotes to compare with your dealers.

If getting a VSA, only get a Toyota Vehicle Service Agreement (VSA) offered through Toyota Financial Services. Dealers have been known sell an extended warranty stating it was Toyota but substitute something else.

Search on "Toyota extended warranties." Then read hits for Toyota vehicles, as the warranty process is the same just a different vehicle.

Keep in mind the car has a factory warranty. Some emissions items are warrantied for even longer periods of time. The 5/75 warranty is after the factory warranties.

Read ALL of what is excluded/included for a VSA, as the exclusions list can be long.
