Newbie to forums
We purchased a 2010 Camry and love the car. Its a 4 cyld with sunroof, red, 4 door. Gets great gas mileage. One problem we just encountered one tire had a side wall puncture and could not be fixed. We took it to to a Tire's Plus near our house. They put on a new tire and also charged for a tpms valve sevice kit. My question why can't you re use the old tpm valve on the new tire? Do they damage it taking the old tire off? Or did the just charge me for a new valve that I did not need?

This is a gasket seal set for the TPMS, the price should be under $7. The TPMS unit itself is a lot more money.
It appears standard practice to replace the seals on the TPMS as a precaution against future slow leaks. Much as when some tire dealers replace the air stem on non-TPMS wheels when new tires are installed. |
Hi! Welcome to the forum. Its so good to meet you.enjoy your stay.

Thankyou for the quick reply and yes the TPMS kit was just around $7. We owned a 2005 Camry that was totaled and no one was hurt. That sold me. This seems like a great site and a good source for hands on maintenance.I appreciate the welcome.

Welcome aboard! Its a newbie here and its nice to see you all here.

yeah i would say if they replaced the entire tire pressure monitor, something is wrong. But if they just replaced the seal, it's a good idea while you have the tire broken down. Welcome to the forums by the way.

Love the look of the 2010's. Nice to hear that all were safe in the accident! Toyota's are some of the best cars made!
