1995 camry 2.2l turbo????
 

I've wanted a turbo in my car. ButI wanted others opinions about it.
I have a 1995 4 cyclinder 2.2L Camry. I'm hopefully sometime soon putting a Surge chip in for better performance and a cold air intake.
So should I put a turbo on or do you think it will just put more strain on the engine because I don't wanna blow it up or anything.
What's everyone's opinion on it?

The 5sfe motor in your 95 camry comes stock with a cold air intake. I've heard its supposed to be a REALLY good intake, but I wasnt impressed with it in my 94. There are kits to set up a cai off a cone, I threw a new Spectre sri in,and intend to do exactly that.

Honestly, the turbo does sound cool, but theres a lot more involved than just bolting on the turbo. That means new intake manifold gasket, new headers, etc etc. I was considering it until I found it would run 2-3 times what I paid for my camry. I'd say start small, the typical intake and exhause mods, then go from there. Work your way up, because if you start off with a turbo, you'll be prettydisappointed when you can barely hold the block together with 2lbs of boost.

Yeah. I understand what you mean, I'm starting off small doing exhaust, exterior stuff, etc. After taking a day of thinking about it i rather now start off doing all that and spending so much time and money for that.....maybe later though. ; )

yea i hear what you mean i have a 95 camry manual as well and i wanna do a turbo as well but first change your spark plugs to iridium ones and change your fuel injectors and fuel filter and fuel pump to and cold air intake and you can see a well improvement it will go faster but if you wanna go turbo than prepare to rebuilt your engine
