2005 camry will not start

Hello All
On my return from vacation, I was unable to start my car. No lights, no starter click, etc. Disconnected the battery cables and cleaned the battery terminals, and then the engine hood would not shut!! Car would not start too
Any advise before I call in the auto folks to jumpstart.
Thanks
Cedric

Your battery ran down, thats all. You were gone two or three weeks, right. Modern cars draw a few milliamps for the computer keep alive. And if you dont drive it say weekly it will run down the battery and just as a normal condition.
There are a couple fixes although really we shouldnt have to be doing them if they made caris 100% right, (which as we all know is bound to happen anytime now.)

1. Install battery disconnect switch from the auto parts store. Its a bolt on item and not too challenging to put on. Then you just pop the hood and turn the switch off when you are leaving the car for a long time. Maybe you might have to reset your clock and radio stations afterwards. And of course you do have to remember to turn the switch back on when you return so you dont go nuts wondering why your car wont start lol

2. I have a solar battery charger from kragen, it cost me like $20. Plug it in the cigarette lighter and place it on the dash and it trickle charges the battery. It works pretty well, but on sunny days it might even overcharge so i often just put mine on the seat so it doesnt get so much sun. They sell an optional regulator for this charger to avoid an overcharge. but it costs $30 so i decided to forgo this item and just take my chances.

you might also be grounding out somewhere?.. best get that checked if ur unsure?..idK.. i just don't think it's right that an '05 would just eat dirt in starting in the first 3 years... would hekka suck if you were elsewhere.

I'd recommend a solar battery charger for those times when your car is parked for long periods.

If you can park the car outdoors of course. Wouldn't be much help in a parking garage, although the bright fluorescent lights might be enough to keep it topped off.

I think this is due to the battery so you need to charge battery then will start. You can charge battery in any other car. I am also face this problem so then i was follow this trick so my car is stared that time.
