LE vs SE ride
 

I have an '07 LE with Michelin Energy MXV tires, and like the smooth, soft ride. I'm planning to buy 2011 Camry, but although I like the appearance of the SE better, I'm concerned that the ride won't be as soft and Buick-like since it has the "sport-tuned" suspension. Is this a valid concern, or can I expect a similar ride from the SE? Thanks.

Although the SE is not a sports car, it does have a firmer ride.

The SE has different struts and strut springs, larger sway bar, chassis reinforcements and a few other items.

If you buy the SE, to get a Buick ride will need different struts and springs.

We have the same concern.

Next question: does the XLE ride better / quieter than the LE?

Thanks for the info. That's exactly what a local Toyota salesperson told me, but if there's one thing I've learned over the years is that car salespeople sometimes don't convey the total truth. I'm a believer in the old adage "Ask a man who owns one." Looks like the next Camry will also be an LE.

Engine model will make a difference in noise. The V6 is quieter and does have different front strut springs.

The differences between LE and XLE of same engine/trans are options such heated this or that, sound system, climate system. Ride and noise are same.

If you are looking for improved ride and noise differences then compare Camry to Avalon. Avalon would have more sound proofing and softer ride.

As to noise, if a major concern can add more sound proofing. Plus of course tires will make a difference.

think hard before making this decision,i had a LE,and traded for an SE,you feel every bump in the road,on the other hand the SE has no body roll,and is much better in emergency manuvers
