Default Thinking of buying Focus

There is this 2000 Ford Focus 3dr 2.0L DOHC Auto. Its a nice blue with grey clothe interior. Body seems in pretty good condition one not so bad dent. The paint isn't bad but it could use a new coat just to look better. I haven't drive it yet but I called the guy and he said it runs great and there's nothing wrong with it. He bought it at a auction and he said he doesn't know if the miles are right but it says 39k. I would most likley sell my 96 camry LE 2.2 with 221k miles on it after I get it. What do you guys think.

Oh and if someone has a carfax if you don't mind thanks.

In terms of quality you would be crazy to take a domestic over import, especially a ford fuc-us. Lmao if you said anything besides a focus i would say cool but nope cant do it with the focus, just not a good car.

What is the reason you are getting rid of the Camry? What condition is the Camry and how much to you think you can sell it for?

39K is not a lot of miles for a 2000 thus unless convinced this was true might suspect the odometer rolled over and it may really have 139K. Best to check this out.

The 2000 Focus got 51 points out of 100 thus it appears to be just an OK car. If the car really has 39K it might be a good deal.

Suggest you do a Google search to read posts such as those below and get an idea of this car.

Im not sure If I am going to sell my camry but its in ok condition it does have 221k miles on it has a small oil leak and need new strut and mounts. Maybe a new paint job. Other than that its a very good car but I don't just have extra money laying around so if I bought the focus I may have to sell the camry.

By the way the focus has a digital odometer so I think it is ok not sure will look into it.

I figure I could sell my car for 3k obo I see them go for that around my area even with high miles

I had a 2000 focus... the only way to roll the odometer is to go 1000000 miles.. its digital. it was a decent car. I enjoyed it. We never had any problems with it untill we got rid of it in 2006. The fuel pump went out because my parents thought it would be fun to constantly run it out of gas. Other than that it was a great car. drove it across country when we moved. i learned how to "drive" on it. Was a good car. I wouldn't recommend a 2000.. that was the first year and there could be alot of issues with them.. id get a later date one.. but that a great "throw away car".

if i were u i wouldnt get it im a ford guy and i had bunch of fords .. if were thinking of doing somthing aftermarket to the car not worth it cuz its zetec get a focus with duratic the block is bullit proof and the tranny too... and u can make more power and there is more parts for the duratic than the zetec and they last longer..

Id say keep the camry. 220k and counting? Thats awesome, im not sure how many problems youve had with it thus far but im willing to guess nothing to major, i mean its a toyota they run forever right.

Ive owned fords but it was a 02 f250 7.3 l turbo diesel 4x4. I cant say its gave me many problems exception with the gas prices, ive had a few rotor issues and brake ordeals but what do you expect going off road and being stupid getting sand and muddy water all over the brakes and rotors...doh!

A friend of mine had a focus. Not the newer body styles but it gave him problem after problem.1st it was a vacum leak, then a timing belt broke, cant remember it all but i just dont think they match the quality of toyota even a camry with 220k..Just my opinion. Maybe it because im a die hard toyota fan for life as far as the car market goes.

2200$ or whatever you stated could get you a nice set of rims..new tint job or paint job...whatever you could make it go a long ways to make the YOTA look GOOD!
