2000 camry rear hub assy
Does anyone know if the non-ABS rear wheel bearing/hub assembly is common between a 2000 Camry & Solara? Or are there subtle differences?
It appears that Timken and SKF use the same p/n for both cars (based on a search at RockAuto), but National (MOOG) lists p/n 512009 (bearing assy only, no hub assy available that I can find) for the Camry vs. 512311 for the Solara. Based on the common Timken & SKF p/n's, I'm assuming the National 512311 hub assy will fit a 2000 Camry as well, but am a bit hesitant to purchase it off ebay when it claims to not be compatible. I'm wondering if there are slight differences that Timken & SKF took into account to achieve a common part, but National did not?? Thanks |
Might recheck the National part numbers. One appears for year 2000, the other for 1999.

Joey,
Thanks for the response. Are you suggesting that the hub assemblies are not interchangeable between a 1999 & 2000? Or that the 512311 should work on a 2000 model year since it's listed as compatible for a 1999? Note again that 512311 is a complete hub assy, while the other is just the bearing assy. I would have guessed that the design would not have changed between model year 1999 & 2000. Could you send a link of where to check the National p/n's? I'm just looking at auto part store's websites, and I haven't found a different p/n for 1999 vs 2000 (they say 512009 for 1999 & 2000 camry). |
