3rd Gen Right Hand Drive Shaft Removel Issue -HELP!
 

Folks,

I've got a 96 3rd gen Camry that I'm attempting to remove the drive shaft from on the passenger's side (RH).

The shaft is supposed to slide out once you remove the bearing set screw and the retainer clip...

...of course, it's not proviving to be that easy at all. I can not get the bearing w/ intermediate shaft to come out.

How to hell do I get the bearing and shaft out of the rear motor mount?

Is there a tool or something I can purchase, etc???

just courious, why would you want to do that? are you replacing it? is it worn out?

Pretty common problem, we've all tried beating and prying on stuck CV drive axles and often this does not work to free it. The best way is to get hold of a slide puller tool.

you might have to rig something up using a cable around the back of the CV joint. And use the slide puller to yank it off. I suggest anti seize on the splines it might help if theres a next time GOOD luck

Gotta love harbor freight!!!! Their tools a the cheapest you'll find, but also the cheapest quality. Gotta drawer full of them at work. So cheap that I dont care when the break, which is often.
