96' Camry LE suspension
Recently I've had a strut mount fail on my 96' Camry, and I want to look into a new suspension setup. I know enough about proper car maintenance, but replacing the struts is something completely new to me. Obviously I'd love to have coil-overs, but new strut/shock assemblies would work perfectly fine too. Just something that rides a bit lower and stiffer. I've looked around for decent brands that would fit my car (eibach, tanabe, HKS, etc), but I cant find any that are made for a 96' camry. Any links you guys can throw me to some strut assemblies that would actually FIT?

You are looking for a strut mount or a complete strut unit with spring and mount?
|
Complete strut unit. I figured since my mount busted (turns out stock strut mounts don't much like a Scandinavian Flick maneuver), I might as well look into replacing both front end strut units.

Gabriel and Monroe offer complete assy. Have not found an assy that lowers the car.
Suggest asking at the Toyotanation website. |
Many thanks man. Found some OEM replacement Monroe's I'll look into further.

I just replaced shocks and struts with Monroe and couldn't be happier.

Yeah I've been raised around a garage my whole life so I knew it was a pretty reputable brand. Any way to make them a bit stiffer? I've just got so much body roll going into corners. Although the new springs would probably help that a good bit, right?

I got the car after my FIL passed on and he was the original owner. The Monroes where the trick for me, they tightened up the body roll and made the car handle so much better. |
