Basic Tire Question on 03 Camry SE

We have over 50,000 miles on our V6 03 Camry SE. Most of which is highway mileage, but nonetheless, we're run our tires to the bones. I'm interested to hear suggestion as to what we should replace the stock tires with. I haven't heard good things about the Michelin Energies. What are your thoughts and suggestions? Thanks in advance.

RE: Basic Tire Question on 03 Camry SE

I basically inherited an '02 SE from my Dad (not deceased, just can no longer drive it due to age) with 38k miles. He had 225/60R16's Michelin X radials put on the car put on at 30k, and they still look new with at least 85-95% tread left. I don't what other people think about this tire, but they ride smooth and quiet, and offer both good wet and dry traction. I can't see why they won't last close to their 80k mi warranty.

If you're an aggresive driver it may be better to go with 17's or 18's and some Dunlops. But if you want to stick with the stock size the Michelins will last if you don't spend most of your time putting the car into 4-wheel drifts.

RE: Basic Tire Question on 03 Camry SE

i personally have seen more dunlops with increased wear thanmich energies. there is a new version out, the mich mx4 i believe it is. comes on the new 07s, and a very good tire provided you take care of tire pressure/ rotation.
