No sure can help. The issue is have no firm knowledge that this or that spring is better then what originally came on the car.

Assume this is a 1999 Camry.

Toyota also sold a model called the Avalon which was a luxury Camry with V-6 engine. The suspension components would be the same but having different springs and struts.

Lexus ES300 of this year was almost the same car.

Camry came in the LE and XLE (the premium version) but the struts/springs appear to have the same Toyota part numbers.

Perhaps a friendly Toyota parts service person can advise if the struts/springs were changed in all these models to soften or firm up the ride of these models.

Springs/struts should fit a Camry from 1997 to 2001.

The link below will provide P/N's on Toyota parts.

You could ask an auto salvage yard to pull the rear struts/springs off junker Camry or similar. Or try Craigslist for parting out cars.

What was the reason for the change in struts?

You might do a search or post at the Toyotanation website. The site has Camry, Avalon and Lexus sections. Most members typically want a firmer or lower ride, but perhaps someone has been in your situation in that their Camry ride is too harsh.
