Muffler Drags on speed bumps and driveway

Hello to all:) I am in desperate need for help concerning my draging muffler on speed bumps and drive ways. My car is a 2006 Camry LE with 4cyl- no mods and Toyota says all is well with suspension and muffler. I am about to purchase a new home that has a steep drive and the muffler drags horribly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated:)

thanks
Tim

Others have complained the muffler is too low.

You might have a third party look at the system and determine if everything is OK but given other complaints assume it is normal.

The Camry suspension will sag if the trunk is loaded down and or lots of rear passengers. Don't put much in the trunk and if you do move it all the way forward.

A muffler shop might be able to move the muffler up higher but I don't know if this is possible.

The bad thing is the muffler is dragging without anything in the trunk or without passengers in the back. I too have looked at the muffler on several occaisons when I rotated the tires- I think I will try to have a muffler shop cut off the muffler and put it closer up to the front of the vehicle- this will of course require a longer tail pipe but that seems to be the only fix right now again any other advice is greatly appreciated:)

Same problem- question of new solution= 10mm spacer undereach coil spring...

Any thoughts if this would work and still maintain handeling in corners, etc??

thanks

Not sure. Many Camry owners want to lower their car not raise it.

Suspension would be firmer, might need an alignment, cornering worse due to higher CG. 10MM is not that much the lift may not be 1 for 1.

There might be something like helper springs out there.

You might be able to find a smaller muffler allowing it to be raised up higher.

I think I will beheading to the muffler shop to see if they can do a custom muffler- spacers may be easy but the cornering and stabillity issues may not be worth trying the spacers
