Rear Wheel Bearings.

How hard is it to replace the rear wheel bearings on a 2002 Camry with rear disk brakes? Are they sealed bearings and will I need a bearing puller?

The bearings are sealed. The method of changing the bearing is to replace the complete hub unit that includes the ABS sensor (if equipped).

The link below has photos of the parts:

I "assume" there is a double row ball bearing inside the housing. That an outer race presses into each side of the part that attaches to the car, a outer seal is installed and the hub presses into the bearing inner races. Then an inner seal and ABS sensor and ring are mounted from the back along with a cap. But all just an assumption.

If you can take the unit apart and just change the bearing (without damaging anything) don't know. The manual states to replace the complete unit, no details shown beyond remove and replace.

Rockauto is about the best online source of aftermarket parts.
