2003 Camry XLE trunk lid remote button issue

Not the battery cause the lock and unlock buttons on the remote work fine. Yet pressing the trunk lid open button does nada. Could it be a fuse; if so which one?

You gotta hold the trunk unlock button down for at least one second for it to work....are you doing that? When I bought my used 2003 I thought my trunk release wasn't working, until I read the owner's manual a second time, CAREFULLY!

2003 camry
Whoa!!! I feel like a complete idiot!
The light in my trunk wouldn't come on a little while after I bought it used. I think at the same time the button on fob stopped working. At least the lever next to the seat worked so I just limped along for almost 2 years.
Finally the latch itself broke so I had to replace the whole thing. THAT'S when I discovered the wires etc, behind the trunk liner. Turns out the plastic receiving end on the latch itself broke. Naturally when I installed the new latch, I plugged in the "male" part and the light came on! But, the fob still wasn't working. I figured that now it finally would. No success. That's when I read THIS! I ran outside, pushed the button and HELD it, for maybe a second and a half. Actually till it OPENED!!! WHO KNEW!? (Well you did) Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm a delivery driver and use the trunk for deliveries. But I always had to put the deliveries down, unlock the drivers door, pull the lever, pick up the deliveries... Well you get the picture. Guess what!!!! Now, I can just push the button, and put my crap in the trunk in one smooth motion.

The latch on my 2003 Camry's trunk also broke. By any chance, do you still have the part number? Need to get a replacement.
