There is certainly no shortage of visual upgrades you can make to your Toyota Camry, from paint and graphics to wheels and tires. One way to make a major upgrade in appearance without breaking the bank or taking on a major project is to add a spoiler. Whether you choose to add a spoiler to the front, back, or both, it's a great way to upgrade your car's look on the cheap.

Spoiler Modifications

While most people think of rear, deck lid or trunk mounted spoilers as being the only option, there are a couple of others as well, like a front lip spoiler and roof or rear window spoiler. The aftermarket for Toyota Camry body accessories is pretty strong, and there are quite a few options available for all three. Quality may vary from brand to brand, but choices are only limited by your imagination and, of course, your budget.

Front Lip Spoiler

DIY Cost$50-250

Professional Cost$100-300 for parts and labor

Skill LevelEasy; May require drilling.

A front lip spoiler makes the front of your Camry lower to the ground and gives it a more aerodynamic look. Installation typically requires some drilling so that the spoiler can be bolted in place, and painting if you want it to match your car's body color. Front lip spoilers are typically made of either polyurethane (cheaper options) or carbon fiber (more expensive).

Roof or Rear Window Mounted Spoiler

DIY Cost$75-200

Professional Cost$100-400 for parts and labor

Skill LevelEasy; Basically a pop in and go installation.

Roof or rear window spoilers simply snap into place in the lip where the rear window and the roof line meet. Made popular thanks to their use on rally cars, these spoilers are designed to channel air flow onto the rear decklid spoiler. Roof or rear window mounted spoilers can be painted, but they often come ready to mount.

Rear Deck Lid Spoiler

DIY Cost$75-400

Professional Cost$150-1,000 for parts and labor

Skill LevelEasy; Requires some drilling.

The most common and popular type of spoiler, the rear deck lid spoiler, makes up the bulk of the aftermarket. That means that there are literally hundreds to choose from of all different shapes and sizes. You can get anything from a discreet, factory-looking lip spoiler to a giant, racecar-looking wing. Installation typically requires drilling some holes in your trunk lid, and painting the spoiler to match your car.
